Jewish Community Centers in the North and South Peninsula will each be having a “palooza” of a Chanukah festival to celebrate the upcoming holiday.

Bring the whole gang for the Family Dance-Off, one of many activities on the agenda at the Chanukah Challa-Palooza on Sunday, Dec. 2, noon - 4 p.m. at the Addison-Penzak JCC in Los Gatos. There’s also food, a Kid Zone with jump houses, Judaica vendors (just in case you need more gifts), holiday music, wine tasting, menorah and candle-making – plus lunch from noon to 1 p.m.

You can whoop it up again on Sunday, Dec. 9, 1 - 4 p.m. at the Latkepalooza at the Peninsula JCC in Foster City. The free annual community-wide Chanukah celebration will feature the jazz/world-music Israeli band Seeds of Sun, entertainment for children, arts and crafts, a wine and cheese reception with artist Chanan Getraide and of course, lots o' latkes! A communal candle-lighting will mark the sixth night of the festival.
