Grandparenting Interfaith/Intercultural Grandchildren, with Rosanne Levitt, LMFT. Tuesday, February 6, 7 p.m. at the JCCSF. This event is free.
When grandchildren are raised in an interfaith family, grandparents may have strong feelings about the religious choices of their children, and concerns about maintaining ongoing, healthy relationships with all members of the family. Join us for an open discussion on these issues in a safe environment led by Interfaith Connection founder, Rosanne Levitt.
Interfaith Themes in the Bible: The Garden of Ruth, dinner and lecture with Eva Etzioni HaLevy, author of The Song of Hannah and The Garden of Ruth.
Wednesday, February 21, 6:30 p.m. at the JCCSF. $18/person (includes dinner and drinks).
The Bible encompasses a surprising degree of interfaith tolerance. Moses intermarried, as did many other major Israelite leaders and personalities. The Garden of Ruth follows in the footsteps of the Biblical Ruth the Moabite, who accompanied her mother-in-law to Bethlehem, married Boaz and became the great grandmother of Israel’s King David. The Garden of Ruth is a tale of betrayal and passionate love with biblical messages of interfaith tolerance that remain relevant today. Books will be available for purchase at the event.
