Passover!  The most celebrated Jewish holiday in America!  Many folks will be heading to the “usual” place – parents, an uncle or dear friends. But in the Bay Area where the mobility rate is high, you may not have put down roots enough to get invited to someone’s home for Seder.  Here’s where Jewish law and Jewish tradition are a big plus.  Since participating in a Seder is a mitzvah, loads of synagogues and Jewish Community Centers offer community Seders.  These are almost all on the second night.  I’m compiling a list of community Seders for the East Bay.  From Berkeley to San Leandro, from Walnut Creek to Antioch and Fremont, Seders are everywhere.

You may want to learn more about how to do your own Seder. If so, there is a terrific website that offers information about each Jewish holiday at www.jholidays.org.

Or you may just want to ask some personal questions about your own Seder.  Where do I put the salt water?  Do I need a Haggadah at each place?  Should they match?  Is it ok to feed the kids a bit during the reading of the Haggadah?  Where can I get a child’s Haggadah?  For those conversations just contact me, Dawn, at the numbers below.

Chag sameach… Happy Holiday!
