Passover begins on the 15th day of Nissan, which corresponds to Monday night, April 2. Sometimes called the Festival of Freedom, Passover celebrates the Israelites’ deliverance from Egypt’s bondage more than 3200 years ago. Each year at this time, Jews all over the world gather with family, friends, and even strangers, to honor and remember our enslaved ancestors and rejoice in the freedom we enjoy today. Congregation Beth Am in Los Altos Hills has two Seders which you are invited to participate in.

Congregation Beth Am’s Community Seder, led by Rabbi Janet Marder, is on the second night of Passover, Tuesday, April 3. Enjoy a delicious multi-course dinner without having to cook, clean up, or remember where you hid the afikomen. Be sure to sign up for Beth Am’s Community Seder in advance! Seating is limited. Non-member reservations begin March 23. If cost hinders your participation, please speak to Executive Director Debbie Coutant in confidence at (650) 493–4661 or debbie_coutant@betham.org.

For more information, please contact the synagogue office at (650) 493–4661.

Women live many roles: daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, mother/sister-in-law and friend. For the past 17 years, in these many roles, we have all come together to celebrate our peoples’ history at Beth Am Women‘s Passover Dessert Seder. Rabbi Janet Marder and Cantor Lauren Bandman will lead this year’s women’s service, which will take place on Thursday, April 6, at 6 p.m. Experience the joy of Passover, the history of our matriarchs, and the camaraderie of our wonderful Beth Am Women and their friends.

For more information, please contact Judy Sack (408) 374–8331.
