Potluck Sukkot Dinner for Interfaith/Intercultural Couples and Friends.
We spend much of our time protected within the solid walls of our homes and offices with the many comforts that we feel are essential for our safety and well-being. The sukkah, the booth which is built as the central symbol during the holiday of Sukkot is a fragile, open structure connecting us to our environment and to those around us, and reminding us of the fragility of life, offering us the opportunity to open ourselves up to our surroundings and to each other. Join us for an evening of community building and getting to know one another better through dinner and friendly discussion in celebration of this Fall harvest festival. Bring a dish to share.

Creating Your Own Rituals Series - Havdallah
A fun and exciting opportunity for couples and families of all constellations to explore the elements of ritual and the components of symbolism through “hands on” experiences related to the cycles and seasons of life and the year. In this workshop we will create Havdallah candles of our own; experience and de-mystify the rituals of the Havdallah ceremony; have a guided opportunity to look at our lives in the context of the working week; and as a family create a ritual around beginnings, endings or both of the work week. Co-sponsored by Or Shalom Jewish Community. $10/couple or family.
