The Interfaith Potluck Shabbat Dinner. Friday, September 19, 6:30 p.m. Join us for a bi-monthly opportunity to connect with old friends and meet new people at our Interfaith Potluck Shabbat dinners in the homes of our members. Mishpacha Shabbat. Last Friday of each month, 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Shabbat service for families with small children: songs, dancing, arts and crafts, and Shabbat blessings, plus a dairy/vegetarian potluck dinner in the company of families just like yours. PJ Library. Registration is underway for the PJ Library, a new Bay Area program from the Harold Grinspoon Foundation. PJ Library sends high quality Jewish books and music to registered families once a month for two years. Raising Your Children in an Interfaith Family. Mondays; call for dates. Focus on child-rearing issues specific to interfaith families, including celebrating holidays, developing family traditions, and talking to children about religion. Preparing Spiritually for the High Holidays. Saturday, September 6, 10:00 a.m. Shabbat service with Rabbi Daniel Kohn will be mainly for adults and teens to help get ready for the High Holidays. The service will be followed by a light potluck lunch; please bring a dish to share. Sponsored by Gan HaLev, the Jewish Congregation of the San Geronimo Valley, an independent and unaffiliated group that represents a broad spectrum of Jewish life, practice, and backgrounds. This interactive 8-week learning program from the Jewish Community Federation will explore basic Jewish principles and apply them to our modern parenting concerns. All levels of learners are welcome. How Can Jews Who Don't Believe in Bible Stories Still Believe in God? Friday, September 12, 6:15 p.m. Maybe God didn't really part the Red Sea . . . or save Noah and his Ark; does that mean there is no God Jews can believe in? Join us for a lively interactive teaching to explore these questions. Share a delicious, no-experience-necessary Shabbat dinner, eat, laugh, and learn. All are welcome.
